- South African media personality DJ Sbu recently left fans scratching their heads after he made a strange request
- The media mogul asked his fanbase to gift him with a brand-new car for his birthday, which is coming up in a few weeks
- His unusual request was met with mixed reactions from Mzansi social media users
Mzansi media personality DJ Sbu left Mzansi fans super confused with a request he made recently. The music producer asked Mzansi to gift him with a car for his birthday at the end of this month.
Sbu explained that he has not bought himself a car in years ever since his luxury cars were repossessed.
He said that he would be grateful if the hustlers he has helped over the years would gift him with a set of wheels for his birthday on 28 May.
His tweet read:
“I haven’t bought myself a new car in 6 yrs since they repo'd my Aston, Porsche & Ranger. The MOFAYA / MASSIVMETRO fleet don't count. It's my bday 28th May. Who wants to gift me guys. Just to say thank you Grootman for all the blueprint wisdom I have laid for you all these years.”
“I always drop gems njalo for you guys. Even this tweet is full of wisdom. Mara some of you guys are too slow to read between the lines. Uku-serva UNkulunkulu Umsebenzi Wami.”
His post was met with mixed reactions from social media users:
“It's not over until God says so... You have risen. We celebrate you, even if we don't say it enough.”
“Temporary set backs don’t define how you end. Through it all you kept going and you made it.”
“Drop your bank details & I’ll contribute 50 to your next ride! & will try get others to do the same as well.”
“Lol. The nerve.”
“Aowa. Be realistic.”
“Are you asking people to buy you a car? On four wheels?!”
Meanwhile, Briefly News previously reported that nothing will stop DJ Sbu from selling his MoFaya drink, not even the law. The media mogul recently shared a video of himself walking on the highway, selling the drink.
He posted the footage on his Instagram account and captioned it:
"DEAR 5AM CLUB! BELIEVE IN YOURSELF WHEN NOBODY DOESN'T. When chasing your dreams, Faith will keep you going. It will be exhausting. It will get lonely. They'll think you're crazy. It will hurt. It will get confusing. It will get tough. It will hurt your pockets. It will hurt your family. You will feel like giving up. DON'T! JUST KEEP GOING. IT WILL ALL MAKE SENSE ONE DAY & TRUST ME, IT WILL ALL BE WORTH IT!"
While many complimented his hustling spirit, others were concerned that he may have been breaking the law. Instagram user wantara99 said:
"Inspo much! So relentless."
"A question, as so many cars passing did you sell a lot of Mofayas on that day? Very interested to know."
"There's something to learn bra enkosi."
"@djsbulive Hustling like a dropout, am super proud of you my brother you are such an amazing soul. Many should draw a pattern from your hustling style and commitment."
"Isn't this illegal?"
