'Uzalo' Explains Mix Up After Nay Maps Ended Up Not Shooting Scenes

Nay Maps is not returning to Uzalo as the show's April teaser had promised. Nay Maps played the popular character of Mxolisi in the SABC 1 telenovela before he joined The Queen.
Nay Maps was supposed to join a list of actors who recently returned to the soapie. Khaya Dladla, aka GC, Nokuthula Mabika, who plays the role of Thobile, and TK Dlamini, who portrays the character of Mxolisi's friend Mastermind, have all appeared in the show except Nay Maps.

The show's viewers have been using social media to ask the show when Mxolisi will be making his much-anticipated appearance. The show's spokesperson Nomfundo Zondi explained the mix up to Daily Sun.
Nomfundo explained that the show's teasers were written before the scenes were shot. She said Nay Map's busy schedule clashed with Uzalo's schedule and he ended up not coming to KZN to shoot his new scenes.
ZAlebs reports that Nomfundo said Mxolisi would've returned for only a few episodes.
"We had to make changes in the storyline. It's not like we took our viewers for a ride. Nay Maps was too busy. His busy schedule couldn't allow him to come for a shoot."

She added that the situation was the same with Generations: The Legacy's Kay Sibiya, who played the character of Ayanda in Uzalo.
In other entertainment news, Briefly News reported that Nokuthula Mabika is one of the talented actors who have returned to Uzalo to boost the show's ratings. The actress is back to play the role of Thobile in the telenovela.
The stunner, TK Dlamini and Khaya Dladla have already appeared on the show and their fans have taken to different social media platforms to share their thoughts on their return. Nokuthula told Briefly News that she wasn't nervous at all to return to the show to continue playing the highly-acclaimed role of Thobile.
"When they (producers) told me I was coming back, I was like 'Oh my gosh'. I wasn't nervous at all."
She also spoke about her character and what she did to prepare for the role. The actress said:
"Thobile has been to Johannesburg for a year and she's come back to KwaMashu to claim that her trip to Johannesburg was a success."
