Reality TV star and broadcaster Andile Ncube has joined the growing list of South African celebrities reacting to Nimrod Nkosi candidly opening up about his marriage to Charlene Tjoe. This comes after Sol Phenduka weighed in on the viral clip, and Ncube also shared his thoughts.
Nimrod Nkosi, best known for hosting the live Lotto draw, sat down for a personal conversation with veteran broadcaster David Mashabela. The interview aired on Wednesday, 16 July 2025, and what Nimrod Nkosi said about his marriage struck a chord in Mzansi.
What did Nimrod Nkosi say about his marriage?
In a clip of the interview shared by social media user @Thisthat_Acadmy on Sunday, 20 July 2025, David Mashabela asked him how his marriage to Charlene Tjoe was. After a 24-second pause, Nimrod gave a brutally honest one-word answer:

“Hard.”
Nimrod Nkosi hinted that his marriage was going through a tough time, and he no longer had the strength to keep it going.
“I need the wind behind that sail. My sails are down. It’s hard. Yeah, but no one can do it alone. I’m not gonna lie because God knows,” Nkosi said.
The I Am King actor admitted that he didn’t see things improving between him and his wife. Nimrod Nkosi expressed gratitude to David Mashebela for asking him and made it clear it wasn’t a topic he would have discussed with just anyone. He said:
“No. I thank God that you’re the man that asked. It's the first time anyone has asked me that. And I thank God that it's a man of your calibre. I would have not let anyone ask me that.”

Later in the interview, Nimrod Nkosi disclosed that his marriage was unhappy and unfulfilling.
Andile Ncube reacts to Nimrod Nkosi's marriage confession
Taking to his X account on Sunday, 20 July 2025, Andile Ncube reacted to the video of Nimrod Nkosi being truthful about the state of his marriage. The Young, Famous & African reality TV star lauded David Mashabela for being a great host. The reaction read:
“David Mashabela. I get why he was happy, YOU asked. Such a great host. Silence doesn’t always need to be filled; sometimes it’s the entire story.”
Speaking to Briefly News, relationship expert Paula Quinsee shared how a partner can feel if they learn of their significant other's feelings for the first time publicly.
Quinsee also shared how a couple can move past the feelings.
"If a partner learns about issues publicly for the first time, they may experience shame, humiliation, and betrayal, so experiencing something like this requires a sincere apology for how the disclosure occurred, open communication and if needed, couples therapy to rebuild trust, and explore what contributed to the situation happening," Paula Quinsee said.

Andile Ncube previously shared his thoughts on another relationship. Briefly News reported that Andile Ncube reacted to fellow Young, Famous & African star Annie Idibia and her husband 2Baba's split.
In a video he posted, Ncube mentioned how difficult marriage can be and also spoke about Annie going through a lot.
In the clip shared on his Instagram account, Ncube was with Quinton Masina and Tanzanian star Diamond, discussing Annie's situation. The reality TV star was among the people who showed the Nigerian actress support.
