DJ Sumbody's murder case has been a huge topic of discussion online following a breakthrough in the case. Last week, the South African Police Services (SAPS) and the Gauteng organised crime unit nabbed four men linked to the murder of Oupa Sefoka and his bodyguard.

The late DJ and former club owner was gunned down in Woodmead, Johannesburg, on 20 November 2022. A report from Sunday World suggested that his murder might be linked to a drug cargo that went missing from police custody in Durban. The publication related Sefoka's murder to a violent underground drug feud caused by the missing consignment.

Was DJ Sumbody involved in crime?

Following the jaw-dropping report, an old X (Twitter) post from the Monate Mpolaye hitmaker has since resurfaced.

Sefoka was laughing at a man who questioned whether he murdered people to make his career flourish. He denied this claim, saying all he is focused on is music.

"Just had to post this one, he is asking me if I kill people for money. I am just a DJ Music is my life."

The old post was unearthed by @sa_crime on X shortly after the news report gained momentum.

"A question was asked to DJ Sumbody about his accumulated wealth. He failed to mention that he was part of an alleged drug cartel."
