The family of popular musician DJ Poizen is reportedly asking for donations for his funeral service, which will be held in Limpopo on Saturday, 13 September 2025.

South Africans react to Poizen's family asking for donations

@Billy_PMS said:

"Kganthe musicians don’t take funeral plans like the rest of us? Don’t be insensitive, guys, let’s talk, let’s educate each other. Salespeople from various companies don't sell to musicians or entertainers?"

@GCINANi reacted:

"A legend gave us timeless basslines, now his family is begging just to lay him to rest. If you’ve danced to DJ Poizen, it’s time to stand up for him. Kriel, Mkhwanazi, Malema, Chyma, this is your cue. 💔🕊️ #HonorPoizen."

@sipho_mate responded:

"This thing of asking about funeral policy won't change the fact that they need financial support. This is not the time to ask such questions."

"Seriously, though, why do they need help to bury? They can gather as a family and hide his body. Those close to him can come. What is the help for exactly."

@Aya_Muzi said:

"But come on, guys, just take a funeral cover, a cheap one that will cover your funeral expenses, we are all going to die, so that one thing is that’s guaranteed. This thing of burdening your poor families when you pass away is not on."

@Gumm_Zoro reacted:

"Why don’t celebrities have funeral policies? Hai maan, this is disappointing, honestly."

@mpume__n commented:

"We should start a new trend where whenever a celebrity posts something on social media, we remind them to take a funeral cover, because, ngathi bayakhohlwa laba," (It's these people forget).
