South African media personality Somizi Mhlongo has recently announced his full support for the upcoming youth-led march.
On Saturday, 13 September 2025, the former Idols SA judge, who was humbled by an Uber driver, declared on his TikTok page that he fully supports the youth-led Heritage Day march that is taking place on Wednesday, 24 September 2025.
Although the march is set to draw attention to the urgent problems young South Africans face, including high unemployment and rising living costs, it has also been influenced by recent youth-led protests in Nepal. The movement has gained traction online, with many arguing that drastic action is needed to grab the attention of those in power.
