South Africans reacted with awe after Dr Nandipha Magudumana appeared in court dressed to kill.
Thabo Bester, a convicted rapist and murderer, and Nandipha Magudumana, as well as those who allegedly helped him escape prison, returned to the Free State High Court on Friday morning, 19 September 2025. Bester, Magudumana and their co-accused, who include prison guards, appeared at the Free State High Court for their final pretrial hearing.
Following their failed bid to block the release of the Netflix series Beauty and the Bester, Nandipha Magudumana turned heads with her outfit when she returned to court on Friday.

In the video, Magudumana was a sight to behold in a formal black suit with a blazer and matching pants. Underneath the blazer, Nandipha wore a light-blue collared shirt. The aesthetician, whose last court appearance was marked by disappointment, wore a golden-yellow scarf around her neck. She had freshly plaited, neatly parted black braids. Magudumana’s nails were long and painted in a bright red shade.
In her manicured hands, Dr Nandipha Magudumana had a brown 2025 diary/planner, a bible and a Louis Vuitton Pochette Accessoires Monogram Mini Brown. A pre-loved Louis Vuitton mini retails for a minimum of $400 (approximately R6,952) on eBay and a maximum of $1,196 (approximately R20,792) on FarFetch. After a brief chat with her legal representative, Magudumana resumed her serious demeanour and went to sit beside one of the accused, Teboho Lipholo, a CCTV technician, who pulled a chair for her to sit on.
