The former couple had once again clashed online in a messy exchange of texts before the rapper chose to respond through a formal statement rather than another round of social media back-and-forth.

"I am sincerely sorry for the pain, disappointment and emotional strain that our journey has caused you. While no relationship is without its challenges, I acknowledge that there are moments where I could have shown greater understanding, compassion and maturity. For that, I offer my heartfelt apology."

Among the more sobering moments in the statement was the rapper's apology to his young children, acknowledging that he had failed to shield them from the chaos played out in public. He also made a point of not discussing the ongoing legal matter tied to a 2023 protection order that Chinsamy obtained against him, which he allegedly violated.
