Dolly was laid to rest just three days after her death at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville. Her cousin, Richie Owens, revealed that the burial was deliberately kept small and low-key, in keeping with what Dolly herself had wanted.

Only a small number of family members were present at the graveside. According to Owens, Dolly had made her wishes clear that the farewell be private, describing it as a burial rather than a formal funeral service. She was buried next to her husband, Carl Dean, who passed away in March 2025 at the age of 82.
