Former Uzalo and Generations actor Mfana Jones Hlophe passed away on Thursday, 8 October 2026, at the age of 55.

Hlophe is the latest Generations actor to die after Seputla Sebogodi, who played the role of Kenneth Mashaba.

The South African entertainment industry also recently bid farewell to legendary actor Lionel Newton.

Media personality Zola Hashatsi shared on his X account on Thursday, 8 October 2026, that the legendary actor Mfana Jones has died.

Hlophe also starred in South African TV shows such as Soul City, Imbewu: The Seed, Isibaya, and Zabalaza.

Actor Nimrod Nkosi paid tribute to the star on his Instagram account on Friday, 8 October 2026.
