Naledi Aphiwe's pain goes beyond money

The Mina Nawe hitmaker was careful to explain that her devastation was not rooted in financial loss. What cut deepest was the intention behind the purchase and how that was ripped away from her.

"It hurts because this wasn't just about money for me. It was about my father, about wanting to make his life easier, and about doing something meaningful for someone who has done so much for me."

Naledi also addressed those who may underestimate the effort she pours into her craft, making clear that her hard-earned resources were exploited in the most personal of ways.

"People don't understand how hard I work for the things I have, and it breaks my heart that someone could take advantage of something so personal. I'm hurt, disappointed and still trying to process everything," she wrote.

The singer did not name the person responsible for the situation, but made it clear the betrayal came from someone she had placed her trust in.
