After watching Beauty and the Bester on Netflix, an American content creator was told to check out Rosemary’s Hitlist on Showmax. South Africans were surprised to see the man's interest in local affairs. Others, however, showed enthusiasm and recommended more true crime documentaries.

On 19 September, 2025, the man, known as Sunset Podcast, said on his TikTok account that while he looked up the documentary's synopsis, he didn't have a chance to sit down and watch the South African four-part special, which hit TV screens on 14 June, 2023.
