“Exceptional”: Reddam House Durbanville Students Achieve Record Cambridge IGCSE Results

Reddam House Durbanville in the Western Cape has announced its best Cambridge International results to date, with 59 Grade 11 students producing 210 subject distinctions in the June 2026 IGCSE examinations and two former students breaking records at A Level.
The cohort sat examinations across 17 subjects, generating 369 individual results in total. The class recorded an overall IGCSE grade average of 79%, with 51% of students finishing with an A or A* aggregate. A quarter of all individual subject results came in above 90%.

Top IGCSE performers lead a strong cohort
Neil Madeleyn topped the Grade 11 class with a 95% aggregate, scoring 98% in both Mathematics and Chemistry, and 96% in Accounting, Biology and Physics. Michael Hamdulay followed closely with a 94% aggregate, while Etienne Louw achieved 93%. Jejoon Kim, Alexander Smit and Jessica Kellerman each recorded 92% aggregates.
Other notable performers included David Lee with a 91% aggregate and 97% in Mathematics, as well as Uzair Adam, Mia Jooste and Sebastian da Mata Rodrigues, who each achieved 90% aggregates.

Youkyum Kim sets new school record at A level
At A Level, Youkyum Kim made history by achieving a combined aggregate of 97%, the highest ever recorded at Reddam House Durbanville. He completed A Level Physics and Further Mathematics in six months rather than the standard year, earning 97% and 96% respectively. He had already achieved 98% for A Level Mathematics in November 2025 and received Cambridge's Top in South Africa award for the subject. He has since secured a place to study for a BA in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge.
Classmate Nicholas Janser also completed his A Levels on the same accelerated six-month timeline, achieving 91% for Accounting. He will go on to pursue a double degree in Economics and Econometrics at Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

Executive Head Barry Nieuwoudt said the results reflected the dedication shared between students, parents and staff.
"These results once again affirm the exceptional academic standards at our school and reflect the hard work and dedication at the heart of all we do," he said.
Reddam House Durbanville, part of the Inspired Education Group, offers students a choice between the South African IEB curriculum and the Cambridge International pathway, making it one of the few Western Cape schools to run a dual curriculum model.
