The video drew thousands of responses, with people divided between horror, disbelief and a grim kind of perspective on human behaviour around large animals.

"I volunteer with tigers and you'd be surprised how apparently common it is for grown men to attempt to sneak off and touch the tigers as if they won't rip you through that fence. Humans are so dumb when it comes to large carnivorous animals, especially men."

"He died."

Lexi Harlow added:
"They better not harm this tiger due to humans' sick actions."
