A Kenyan man has shared a photo of the house his cousin built for him at a cost of KSh 3.5 million, expressing regret over the construction.
In the now-viral post on Facebook, the man, identified as Namanda Namanda, lamented the quality of the house, which showed numerous structural issues and substandard materials used in its construction. He posted the house in a group called Home Beautiful.
The man faced the daunting task of rectifying the flaws in the building and regretted not hiring a qualified engineer.
"KSh 3,500,000 (4R28,460.77) gone and this is what I am seeing. My cousin, where did I go wrong? How I wish I hired my neighbour who is a qualified engineer," he posted on the Home Beautiful Facebook page.

What are the architect's views on the house?
Adrian Gachewa, a graduate practising architect from the University of Nairobi, told Briefly News's sister publication TUKO.co.ke that the house resulted from poor workmanship.
"The skeleton of the structure - the beams and columns - are either off or absent. The walls are also crooked. Design-wise it's also a flop. The placement of windows is off. In design you don't place windows exactly at the column," he explained.
Gachewa observed that the expenses incurred to construct the house to that level could not have exceeded R85,000.
"Up to this point, it can't have gone beyond R85,000. The labour used was obviously unskilled, so very cheap, including the designer who probably drew it with a biro pen.
He recommended that the house should be constructed afresh as it could collapse.
