A personal story from a young woman, detailing the swift marriage's end to a police officer, captured significant online attention.

The woman, TikTok user @oluhlencele, shared the video on the platform, and it went viral, attracting massive views, likes, and a flood of comments from shocked viewers.

In the clip, @oluhlencele recounted the events that led to her departure from the marriage just two weeks in. On the day of her traditional Xhosa marriage ceremony, after the utsiki custom was performed and she received wise words from the elders, her new husband asked if he could go out with his friends. He did not return until very late, prompting her to call him to check his whereabouts. He confirmed he was still with his friends. Later, he called again, claiming he was needed at the police station, a story she found suspicious. He eventually came home around 5 am and promptly fell asleep.

A marriage's swift end

When he awoke and went to the shower, she took his phone, checked his pictures, and found a photo of a woman's hand intertwined with his. She also saw a picture of them in bed together. A few days later, she discovered red underwear in his car. When confronted, his excuses ranged from guessing it belonged to his friends to people they had arrested. The final straw, just in their second week of marriage, came when he came home highly intoxicated, accompanied by the side chick. He told @oluhlencele that all three of them would sleep in the same bed. The man further informed her that if she refused, she could sleep on the couch.
