Expert Paula Quinsee on confronting a spouse over infidelity

While speaking to Briefly News, certified relationship expert Paula Quinsee shared the psychological impacts of publicly confronting a spouse over infidelity and discussed whether there’s a better way to manage emotions and move forward with dignity.

"Public confrontation can add to the shame and escalate emotions, leaving regrets about how the situation was handled. Psychologically, it can make the betrayed partner feel momentarily powerful, but it also risks humiliation, reputational damage, and escalating the emotional fallout," said Paula.

She added:

"The best way to handle the discovery is in private, where dignity can be preserved, emotions can be processed safely, and real conversations about the way forward can be discussed, such as decisions to stay and work through things or separation can happen. Choosing a respectful or private way to handle this kind of situation is not a weakness; it’s self-respect and control."
