Why do people ululate
According to Wikipedia, ululation is a long, high-pitched sound made with the voice, often rising and falling in waves. It’s practised in many parts of Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. In South Africa, it has different names in local languages: lilizela in Zulu, ukuyiyizela in Xhosa, and nkulungwani in Tsonga.
It’s an important part of African culture and is most often done by women during weddings and other big celebrations to show joy and excitement.
