When TikTok user @dr.brigitta posted a video on 14 September 2025, she didn’t expect it to go viral so quickly. Within just one day, the clip garnered over 32,000 likes and more than 5,000 comments, with netizens sharing their thoughts on the unusual braai attempt. She captioned the post with:
“First braai attempt without males."
In the video, a group of women gathered around a braai stand, eager to prepare meat on their own for the first time. Instead of thawing their wors beforehand, they placed the frozen meat directly onto the hot charcoal fire. The result was a burnt outer layer while the inside remained completely raw and frozen.

Frozen wors leaves TikTok divided
TikTok viewers wasted no time weighing in. Many were left in stitches, calling the clip one of the funniest braai mishaps they had seen. Others pointed out that the failure had nothing to do with men being absent, but rather with not applying basic cooking sense. Several users even asked why the group didn’t simply defrost or thaw the meat before tossing it onto the coals.
Despite the criticism, the video entertained thousands and sparked plenty of conversation. Some netizens defended the women, saying that trying and failing is part of learning, while others suggested that next time they use a microwave or hot water to soften the wors first. Whether people found it hilarious or frustrating, one thing is certain: the video added to South Africa’s endless collection of viral braai stories.
