“Proud of You Ladies”: Parents Show Off Their Stamina During School Race, SA Impressed

What started as a school challenge turned into motivation, as local viewers debated the race and expressed a wish for similar events at their own schools.

The clip gained traction after it was shared on TikTok by user @sbungwane215 on 1 April 2026, reaching hundreds of comments from viewers who praised the active women.

The mothers were filmed while on the track, running for the top spot. As they were moving fast, one parent fell and rolled a few times. Determined not to quit, she got up and continued with the race as if she had not fallen.

The moms show off their stamina on the race track

The women, in TikTok user @sbungwane215's clip, continued racing while their children and others stood on the sides cheering. When they got closer to the finishing line, one mother in a white dress pulled all her energy to get to the end fastest. While they were clearly not informed of the race before judging from their outfits, the women did very well. Most of them were in jeans, short and long dresses, clothes not fit for a race.

SA loves the active mothers

The clip quickly gained momentum, with social media users flooding the comments section expressing their amusement. Many viewers loved that the parents gave their all while running and showered them with compliments. Some felt the school needed to have informed the parents in advance, so they could come dressed the part. Others noted that there was always one or more parents falling during such activities. One viewer who was confident of her running ability shared her frustration that they don't have such activities for parents at her child's school.
