Breaking stereotypes with a big move
The post conveyed a powerful message about the importance of hard work and financial discipline. Many people applauded the young woman for proving that even in service industry jobs, it is possible to make life-changing purchases with dedication.
Social media erupted with messages of congratulations and encouragement, with many users saying the moment motivated them to chase their own goals. For some, it also sparked a conversation about respecting workers in roles often underestimated or looked down on. The heartwarming video has since become a symbol of resilience and determination, showing how dreams can be achieved one step at a time.
SES explained to Briefly News that people often underestimate the work waiters and waitresses do.
"People assume that all we do is bring out food. Forgetting we prepare tables, clean tables, and prepare the entire restaurant. All the little things you notice are done by waiters and waitresses, such as sweeping and mopping."
She also reflected on how much customer interactions can mean in the industry.
“When I meet motivating customers, some will have a normal, natural, and cheerful conversation with you, and that, as a waiter, can honestly make your day."
SES recalled a memorable moment when a customer complimented her confidence and service so much that they offered her a job. She actually left her waitressing role for a short while to work with them, showing how rewarding the industry can be in terms of networking and unexpected opportunities. On the topic of tips, SES stressed that many misconceptions exist.
“That would be that waiters get paid, so you don’t have to tip. Obviously, tipping is an option, but it’s highly appreciated. Most of the time, restaurants cheat the system; they don’t have waiters."
