SOUTH AFRICA — The South African Broadcasting Corporation has confirmed Heidi Giokos as a new presenter on the weekend edition of Fullview, its SABC News programme, weeks after her departure from eNCA.

Giokos was dismissed from eNCA in July 2026 following an internal disciplinary process. The broadcaster found that she had violated declaration provisions in her employment contract by featuring in an advertisement for cars.co.za without first obtaining approval from channel management.

Giokos joins SABC News line-up

The SABC described the appointment as part of its ongoing commitment to public broadcasting across its news platforms. Giokos brings a background in business, financial, and current affairs journalism, with experience as a presenter, interviewer, and facilitator. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and an Honours Degree in Communications.

The SABC did not disclose the start date for her on-air role on the weekend Fullview edition.
