UK Triple Murder Accused Ndodana Tshuma Pleads Guilty to Firearm Charges

SOUTH AFRICA - A Zimbabwean-British man wanted in the United Kingdom for the alleged murders of his wife and two young daughters has pleaded guilty to firearm and immigration-related charges in a Johannesburg court.

Mark Ndodana Tshuma, 45, appeared at the Johannesburg Magistrates' Court and admitted to unlawfully possessing a firearm and ammunition. He also pleaded guilty to contravening South Africa's Immigration Act by entering the country while classified as a fugitive in the UK.

It is understood that Tshuma reached a plea agreement with the state ahead of his court appearance.

Wife and daughters killed in the UK

Tshuma is wanted in the United Kingdom in connection with the deaths of his wife, Zandile, and their two daughters, 15-year-old Natalie and five-year-old Nala, who were killed in July. South African authorities arrested him shortly afterwards in the Kensington area of Johannesburg, where he was allegedly found in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The IT specialist is also expected to make a separate court appearance to address the UK's formal extradition request.

Extradition proceedings still ahead

While Tuesday's guilty plea closes the South African firearm and immigration charges, the extradition proceedings remain a distinct legal process. The UK has formally requested his return to face the triple murder charges. The outcome of those proceedings will determine whether Tshuma is sent back to Britain to stand trial for the deaths of his family.

The case continues to be closely watched given the severity of the allegations and the cross-border legal dimensions involved.

Zandile Tshuma and daughters laid to rest

While the case was continuing, Zandile Tshuma and her two daughters were laid to rest back in Zimbabwe.Her family had lauched a fundraising effort to have their bodies repatriated.The campaign was managed by Khumalo's aunt, Sharon Khumalo, who was authorised by the Khumalo and Magonya families to oversee the funds.

Tshuma allegedly tried to take his own life

Briefly News also reported that Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma came within moments of taking his own life before South African police moved in to arrest him. According to the police, purchased a 9mm pistol in the Alexandra township and was reportedly on the verge of ending his life when officers intervened. During his appearance before the Johannesburg Magistrates' Court on 13 July 2026, Tshuma was charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm.
