When it comes to marquee attacking talent, it's difficult to surpass the heights reached by Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe.
Both players, who have been nothing short of sensational since their emergence at their respective clubs, are set to join forces for the 2024/25 season with La Liga giants Real Madrid.
The consistently outstanding performances delivered by these two mercurial attackers have frequently ignited debates about who is the better player. More often than not, these arguments end without a clear resolution.
However, in a recent interview, former Barcelona forward, Sergio Aguero, weighed in on the debate, sharing his thoughts on who he considers better between the two.
Aguero speaks on Vinicius, Mbappe comparison
In an interview reported by Madrid Xtra, the Manchester City icon expressed his opinion that Mbappe appears to be the more complete player between the two.
Aguero, however, acknowledged Vinicius' outstanding season with Real Madrid and his exceptional ability to play tight spaces.
“For me, looking at this season, Vinicius was better than Mbappe. I think Mbappe is more complete, but Vinicius has been a constant threat. He is a player who, when he gets the ball from the midfield, you sense danger. Mbappe, on the other hand, struggles more against closed defences because he needs more space, whereas Vinicius is much more skilful in that regard. They are different players, but Mbappe is a bit more complete.”
According to data from Fotmob, despite an injury-plagued season, the young Brazilian forward finished as Real Madrid's top scorer with 24 goals.
Mbappe also had another stellar campaign with Paris Saint-Germain, scoring 44 times for the Ligue 1 champions. Both players are set to team up at Real Madrid next season, potentially forming one of the most formidable attacking duos in recent seasons.
Aguero names Ballon d’Or favourite
In another report by Briefly News, Aguero named his favourite to win the Ballon d'Or.
The 36-year-old expressed his admiration for Jude Bellingham but ultimately chose a different player for the prestigious award.
