Rooney picked Darren Fletcher as his best teammate but included others who were good.

"Best teammate? I'd say Darren Fletcher, he's my best mate, he said via Sportbible. "There were a few - John O'Shea, Wes Brown, Michael Carrick - we were all really close. Ten Hag’s candid assessment, which compared United’s current capabilities to those of their Premier League rivals vying for Champions League spots, may have had some merit, given the team's start to the 2024/25 campaign.
