Manchester United Legend Names One Player Who Will Thrive Under Ruben Amorim
- Manchester United have settled on Ruben Amorim as their next coach to replace Erik ten Hag, who was fired on Monday, October 28
- The Sporting CP boss will reportedly coach his first match after the November international break
- Former Man United centre-back Jaap Stam has named one player who he believes will thrive under the new coach
Ruben Amorim is set to become Manchester United's next coach after the club dismissed Erik ten Hag earlier this week.
According to reports in England, the Sporting CP coach is expected to take charge after this month's international break.
Former Red Devils defender Jaap Stam has highlighted one player who will benefit from Amorim's arrival.
Who will thrive under Amorim?
Amorim's arrival will impact the Man United squad. Players like Manuel Utgarte and central defenders are set to benefit greatly, while the likes of Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes could see their influence diminish.

Jaap Stam played for Man United between 1998 and 2001 and won three Premier League titles under Sir Alex Ferguson. He said Matthijs De Ligt will be the biggest beneficiary in Amorim's arrival.
"I think Matthijs has an even brighter future when Amorim comes in, especially if he decides to play with three centre-backs," Stam told Metro Sports.
He’s got the ability, he has the ability to improve too. He does need to be more consistent in his playing style and needs to be more confident.
Amorim's Sporting usually plays with three central defenders, so the club's centre-backs will have plenty of opportunities. Stam is concerned about the midfield options.
"But the biggest issue for me will be in midfield. What two will he use? It is a big question mark."
When will Ruben Amorim join Manchester United?
Reuters reported that Amorim will join the club after the international break. His first game will be against Ipswich Town on November 24.
The 20-time English champions are in a difficult spot in the Premier League and Europa League. They have not won in Europe this season and sit 14th in the English top flight.
Amorim will probably be tasked with helping the slumbering giants finish in the top four, which will be a significant improvement compared to their eighth-place finish last campaign.
Ruud van Nistelrooy's message to Amorim
Briefly News earlier reported that Man United interim coach Ruud van Nistelrooy appeared to make a request to Amorim.
The Dutchman said he is open to working at the club in any capacity, but it will be up to the young Portuguese manager.
