The Man United vs. Arsenal rivalry was at its peak in the early 2000s, with both teams battling for the league title.

The two sides ferociously clashed when they met. Captains Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira embodied the rivalry on the pitch.

Players from both teams clashed in the tunnel, threw pizzas at the coach, and were not afraid to show disdain for one another.

One of Arsenal and Man United won the Premier League between 1998 and 2004. Incidentally, the Gunners have not won another title since 2004, while Man United won five more since then, with the last coming in 2013.

This game was the last time Man United defeated Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League. David De Gea stole the show, thwarting almost every Arsenal attack.

Antonio Valencia and Jesse Lingard gave the Red Devils a 2-0 lead before Alexandre Lacazette pulled one back. Lingard then secured the win with a goal in the 63rd minute.

The legendary goalkeeper made 14 saves in the game, a record in the Premier League. Tim Krul and Vito Mannone are the only goalkeepers with 14 saves in a game.

Arsenal 1-3 Manchester United - 2008/09

Sir Alex Ferguson's team blitzed their way past Arsenal to win their only Champions League in the 21st century. Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo produced a world-class performance at the Emirates Stadium to eliminate Arsenal in the semi-final.

Ji-Sung Park pounced on a mistake after just eight minutes before Ronaldo produced one of the greatest free-kick goals. The Portuguese beat Manuel Almunia from 40 yards to give the visitors a 2-0 lead, per UEFA.

The Al-Nassr star then finished off a devastating counterattack to seal the win. Robin van Persie scored a consolation for the hosts. Man United went on to win the tie 4-1 on aggregate but lost the final to Barcelona.

Arsenal 1-3 Manchester United - 2010

Man United registered their first-ever win at the Emirates Stadium with an epic 3-2 win. Wayne Rooney scored his 100th Premier League goal to add to Ji-Sung Park and Manuel Almunia's own goal, per Sky Sports.

Thomas Vermaelen scored the consolation for the hosts. Man United went on to lose the title by one point to Chelsea, while the Gunners finished third.

Amorim will be looking to get a rare win at the Emirates against a high-flying Arsenal side.

Amorim Prepares for Arsenal Test

Briefly News earlier reported that Ruben Amorim has had a solid start as Manchester United manager, securing two wins in three matches.

However, he faces a daunting trip to Arsenal on Wednesday, where United hasn't claimed a Premier League victory since 2017. Despite calling for fan support at the Emirates, Amorim expressed his dislike for his chant from supporters.
