Miguel Cardoso Names Mamelodi Sundowns Star Who Is Seriously Underrated
Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has hailed midfielder Marcello Allende as one of the most underrated players in South Africa, insisting his quality often goes unnoticed.
Allende underlined his value once again on Saturday, finding the back of the net as the defending champions rallied from behind to secure a 3-1 league victory over Durban City in the capital.
“It’s important for people in South Africa to truly appreciate the quality Marcelo brings. I feel he’s still underrated and hasn’t yet received the recognition he deserves.”
He added: “For me, what matters most is that he enjoys his football, plays with freedom, and expresses himself. That freedom gives him the chance to explore different spaces and possibilities on the pitch.”
