Why Chiefs might struggle without Nabi

Uche Anuma, while chatting with Briefly News, highlights some of the reasons Kaizer Chiefs should fight to keep Nabi this season.

Kaizer Chiefs released an official statement when the news went viral on social media, and the details of the statement suggest that the club could still retain the Tunisian mentor:

“Kaizer Chiefs' statement said they are still in talks with Nabi, which means there's a possibility for him to stay. The Kaizer Chiefs squad is already blending to Nabi's tactics, so this is not a good time for him to leave the club."

Anuma also pointed out why Kaizer Chiefs might struggle if they lose Nabi this summer, while also suggesting what they can do if they are unable to convince the former AS FAR Rabat manager to stay.

"Bringing in a new coach at this point might be both a bad and good idea, but I think the bad idea outweighs the good. He won the Nedbank Cup last season, and the team has started so well this campaign. Ruining this positive run with Nabi's exit would mean the new manager would have to start all over again.
"We saw how Nabi also struggled with the team last season, and I am sure that would repeat itself unless the board hires someone who's very familiar with the league and has a good success rate in imposing his style of play on his team.
"If Nabi insists on leaving, then they should do all they can to get Pitso Mosimane this time, not like last summer, where it was just rumour upon rumour."

Kaizer Chiefs lost their last match against Angolan side Kabuscorp SCP in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round, but they will switch their focus to the midweek Betway Premiership fixture against Marumo Gallants.
