Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly considering a European transfer for 20-year-old defender Thato Sibiya, with clubs from abroad said to have registered interest in the young left-back.
SABC Sport reported that Sibiya, widely regarded as one of the standout prospects within the Sundowns academy, has drawn attention from overseas clubs.
The Brazilians are understood to be evaluating their options rather than actively pushing for a sale, with any potential deal dependent on the nature of incoming offers and whether they satisfy the club's valuation.
Sibiya's path to the first team stalls
Sibiya was elevated to the Sundowns senior setup in January and made a handful of appearances towards the tail end of last season. His complete absence from matchday squads in the current campaign has, however, intensified questions about his future at Chloorkop.

The club had originally envisaged Sibiya progressing through the same development pathway as academy graduates Bennet Mokoena, Malibongwe Khoza and Gomolemo Kekana. That trajectory now appears uncertain.
Sibiya already carries notable international pedigree. He was part of South Africa's U20 squad at last year's FIFA World Cup in Chile and has accumulated nine caps at junior level.
Maseko departure sets a precedent
The speculation around Sibiya emerges in the wake of Thapelo Maseko's confirmed exit from Sundowns. Maseko, whose performances for Bafana Bafana at the World Cup attracted significant European interest, is set to join Danish club FC Copenhagen on a three-year contract. He is expected to travel to Denmark this weekend for a medical ahead of finalising the move.
With the transfer window remaining open until 21 September, Sundowns have time to conclude any negotiations should a satisfactory offer arrive for Sibiya.
For now, the club appears to be in a monitoring phase, weighing the interest carefully before committing to a direction on the young defender's future.
Bafana star leaves Sundowns for PSL rivals
Briefly News also reported that a Bafana Bafana star has decided to leave Mamelodi Sundowns for the second season running for Premier Soccer League rivals.
The South African international is one of the few players leaving the CAF Champions League champions this summer ahead of the 2026-27 season.
