Orlando Pirates Announce Signing of South African Forward From Premier Soccer League Rivals

Orlando Pirates have completed the permanent signing of winger Bheki Mabuza from Marumo Gallants, with the club confirming the move in an official announcement.

The 23-year-old joins the Buccaneers after impressing during his spell with Marumo Gallants. Mabuza is returning to Pirates after previously being part of the club’s junior setup in 2023. He later moved to M Tigers FC, making his latest transfer something of a return to familiar surroundings.

Mabuza ready to step up at Pirates

In their announcement, Orlando Pirates described the move as a return to familiar territory for the winger. The club explained that Mabuza’s impressive displays at Marumo Gallants had convinced them he was ready to come back and take the next step in his development.

Msendami and Mariko head out on loan

Alongside the Mabuza announcement, Orlando Pirates confirmed that midfielder Daniel Msendami and forward Abdoulaye Mariko will join Marumo Gallants on season-long loan deals.

The temporary transfers are intended to provide both players with valuable regular playing time that may have been difficult to secure at Pirates.

The club explained that Msendami and Mariko would move to Marumo Gallants as part of the arrangement, effectively completing the three-way transfer agreement.

The deal allows Pirates to manage their squad depth while giving Msendami and Mariko an opportunity to gain more first-team experience in Limpopo during the upcoming season.

Nkota’s Pirates return adds another transfer angle

Briefly News also reported that Mohau Nkota has returned to Orlando Pirates on loan from Al-Ettifaq until June 2027 after a difficult spell in Saudi Arabia.

His agent said the move was meant to give the young winger more stability and a chance to rebuild his form. The return also comes as Pirates continue to navigate a busy transfer window.
