AmaZulu FC striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya has been named the Betway Premiership Player of the Month for August after producing a remarkable run of form for the Durban club.
The 25-year-old Zimbabwean scored five goals and registered one assist in four matches during the month, according to the PSL, which announced the award on 8 September 2026 on its official X account.
Ngwenya’s goalscoring exploits have made him one of the standout attacking players in the early stages of the campaign.

Zimbabwe striker continues impressive rise
The award adds another milestone to Ngwenya’s career since his move from FC Platinum to AmaZulu in July 2025. Before heading to South Africa, he had established himself in Zimbabwean football and also earned international recognition.
Ngwenya made his senior Zimbabwe debut in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda. He later scored twice at the 2025 COSAFA Cup.
His performances helped earn him a move to the Betway Premiership, where he has continued to develop his reputation.
Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou was named Coach of the Month, while Mamelodi Sundowns forward Brayan Leon won Goal of the Month.
