Analyst calls for patience but warns of consequences
Football analyst Uche Anuma shared his assessment of the situation in an exclusive interview with Briefly News, urging the coaching staff to balance patience with accountability.
"Brandon Petersen has earned the right to be given enough time to recover from his current poor run of form," Anuma said.
However, the analyst made clear that the goodwill extended to Petersen has limits.
"Da Cruz needs to find a solution to Brandon's mistakes or, better still, try one of Bruce Bvuma or Renaldo Leaner if the captain fails to improve in the next two games," Anuma added.
The comments point to growing scrutiny around Petersen's position between the posts, with both Bvuma and Leaner identified as viable alternatives should his form not recover swiftly.
Chiefs now face a critical period in the Betway Premiership, with the draw against Polokwane City leaving them outside the top two and increasing pressure on da Cruz to find stability, particularly in areas of the squad where individual errors have cost the team points.
