Speaking on SABC 2 following the match, former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune was effusive in his assessment of both Mofokeng goals, drawing particular attention to the quality of the finishing and the build-up play.
Mofokeng's first goal caught Khune's eye for an unexpected reason. "Yeah, beautiful strike with his left foot," Khune said. "And I mean he surprised all of us because we know that he's stronger with his right foot, but here, he connected the ball very well."

On the second goal, Khune was equally impressed by what preceded the finish. "What a great run by Mofokeng. But what I like about it firstly is the first touch, the run, and the execution of the pass from [Oswin] Appollis. Then what a great finish by Rele," he added.
Mofokeng's Form Extends to Club Level
The brace lifted Mofokeng's international goal tally to five in 24 appearances for the national team. The 21-year-old forward joined Belgian club Royale Union SG ahead of the current season and has carried his form into club football, contributing four goals and one assist across all competitions for the Brussels-based side.
Wednesday's performance in Cairo served as further evidence of a player building momentum at both club and international level, with his ability to contribute effectively from either foot adding an additional dimension to his threat in front of goal.
