For the second week in a row, South Africa showed their grit by overcoming a first-half red card to defeat Italy in Turin.

A week after Lood de Jager was sent off against France in Paris, Franco Mostert faced a similar fate in the opening half after being penalised for an illegal tackle on Italy fly-half Paolo Garbisi.

Despite being reduced to 14 men, the Springboks demonstrated their depth and adaptability, with coach Rassie Erasmus making key substitutions before halftime to maintain momentum.

South Africa gained the upper hand just before the break when Marco van Staden powered over for a try. Later in the match, scrum-half Morne van den Berg added to the scoreboard with a sharp run 20 minutes from full-time.

The result reinforced South Africa’s status as world champions and highlighted their ability to respond effectively in challenging situations.

Rugby fans celebrated the emphatic win with posts of pride on social media as yet again, the Boks proved that they are a force to be reckoned with.
