TV producers Shona and Connie Ferguson have launched their own foundation. The popular actors took to social media to share the good news.

The aim of the foundation is to reportedly support disadvantaged people in the African continent. The Ferguson Foundation also aims at empowering people in business, education and film. It aims to create balanced and equal opportunities for women.

The Queen actress took to Instagram a few days ago and made the announcement. The media mogul said they have been working tirelessly with their amazing team to make this dream come to fruition.

"Words cannot express how grateful and exhilarated we are to finally get this program up and running."

She shared that the foundation will hold its first gala fundraiser on 26 June.

"Let’s celebrate what’s about to be an epic and inspired journey for our future leaders not only in film and television, but across other industries. The work has started! To God be the glory."

In other entertainment news, Briefly News reported that Connie Ferguson was beaming after she got to spend time with her family this past weekend to celebrate her dad's 85th birthday. Seeing her father and siblings filled Connie’s heart.

Taking to social media to share the moment, Connie explained how they had all been keeping away from one another as to protect their father from the dreaded Covid-19 virus.

“The last time I saw Pops was just before Covid hit! In trying to protect him we stayed away and FaceTimed a lot.”

Connie and her six other siblings were able to come together and make their father's 85th birthday one to remember! Connie ended the sweet post by highlighting how her father’s youth and unwavering drive makes her and everyone around him want to do better and be better. Connie could not be more grateful for his existence.
