But, some South African celebs decided to declare their religion and take the risk of persecution, all for the love of their Saviour.

Briefly.co.za gathered four young, talented and successful celebs who are not ashamed of their religion.

"But whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.", Matthew 10:33

1. Gugu Gumede

Gumede plays a devoted religious woman, Mamlambo, on Uzalo. But, in real life she is also a Christian.

And, she is not afraid to talk about God. She has explained how she prayed to become an actress, which she added was her calling.

I wish you knew how some of us aren't actors for the fame - but because if we aren't acting, we're not fulfilling our truest calling. Made for this, trained for this, prayed for this.

2. Karabo Mogane

Most famous for winning SA Idols in 2015, Mogane actually began his singing career in his dad's church.

The pastor's kid is the youngest out of eight children, all who are extremely talented singers.

Although he made it big in the world of music, he never forgets where his strength and talent comes from.

"Jesus is everything to me. We are who we are and we can have all we want to have because Jesus Christ died on the cross for us," Karabo was quoted saying.

3. Rorisang Thandekiso

Thandekiso does not shy herself from the Gospel. She openly talks about her relationship with God and even shocked many when she announced she is staying pure until marriage.

According to the South African beauty, she is a true Proverbs 31:25 woman:

"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come."

4. Khaya Mthethwa

Khaya Mthethwa's story is much like that of the Prodigal Son. The pastor's kid wandered off the experiment the worldly joys but ended up returning home.

He is now a pastor at his dad's church and he is one awesome worship leader.
