- The Lion King will soon be hitting South African theatres but so far, it seems reactions to the film and its music have been mixed
- According to local actress, Khany Mbau, Beyoncé's role in the film wasn't a good idea
- Khanyi made it clear how she felt by giving the US pop star a 'BIG NO'
There's been a lot of hype surrounding the remake of Disney classic, The Lion King, but it looks like the film might just disappoint many fans.
Reviews on the movie have been mixed, and it has already received criticism from many, according to ZAlebs.
One such critic is Mzansi actress, Khanyi Mbau. She took to Twitter to share her opinion, and gave Beyoncé, who plays Nala, a big fat no.
Briefly.co.za gathered that David Ehrlich, American film critic, wasn't happy with the film in general.
He went as far as calling the film a 'disaster', having much to say on how 'underwritten and underused' Beyoncé's character is.
"Beyoncé also plays the role of adult Nala, Simba’s partner in the pride, but not even she can rescue a three-dimensional creature from five or six lines of generic dialogue."
South Africans can catch the film in cinemas this week and decide for themselves if they like it or not.
