Papa Penny mourns the death of his 23-year-old stepson, Nicolas

- Papa Penny Penny's stepson, Ma Nomi's first-born, Nicolas has died

- It is alleged that the 23-year-old committed suicide at Soshanguve train station last Thursday

- Nicolas will be buried in Soshanguve on Saturday, 3 August

Media personality, Papa Penny Penny, is grieving the loss of his stepson, Nicolas.

Briefly.co.za learned that the 23-year-old first born son of Papa Penny’s wife, Mama Nomi, allegedly committed suicide last Thursday afternoon at Soshanguve train station, north of Pretoria. He lived with his grandparents in Soshanguve.

Nicolas made a cameo appearance on the Tsonga disco pioneer’s popular reality TV show, Papa Penny Ahee!

Penny told The Sowetan yesterday that the family has still not come to terms with the news of Nicolas’ death.

“He woke up in the morning and he was very good, So around 3pm after taking a bath he just told the grandfather that he’s coming back [after going out],” said Penny.
“At around 10pm, we received a call that he had not returned home. We tried calling him but his phone went onto voicemail. We tried calling his friends and they didn’t know where he was. That’s when we started to suspect something was wrong,” said Penny.

He then said that the grandfather was looking through Nicolas’ room around 11pm when he found a letter with the message that “I’m going to kill myself at Soshanguve train station." This shocked the grandparents who then called the police and they were told it [suicide] happened around 4pm.

“I drove there [from Limpopo] the same night. We went to check and found that it was indeed him. Apparently, people tried to stop him,” added Penny.

The reality TV show star said he never thought Nicolas would do something like this.

“I don’t know what his problem was. He used to tell his mother sometimes that ‘I’m going to kill myself.’ During the day on Thursday, he sent his mother a picture with the peace sign. The mother didn’t think much of it,” said Penny.

According to The Sowetan, Nicolas will be buried in Soshanguve on Saturday.

Police spokesperson, Capt Stephen Maluleka, said they did not have “am inquest case opened of that nature at Rietgat police station for the past week”.

Meanwhile, about three weeks ago, Briefly.co.za reported that even though Papa Penny has received some major backlash for the things he has said on done on his reality TV show, he is super-grateful to have been able to keep it going for three seasons.

Taking to social media, Papa Penny shared a short appreciation clip as the last episode of season 3 was set to air. Papa Penny expressed his gratitude and announced that there will be a season 4. Papa Penny ain’t going nowhere!
