Cassper Nyovest has finally opened up about an alleged altercation between him and AKA four years ago.

Cass revealed that the incident had resulted in much bullying from social media trolls, but he explained why he had not retaliated.

Back in August 2015, Cass shut down the Twitter trend list when he claimed that AKA had slapped him in a club. The streets were divided due to the fierce rivalry between the two artistes at the time. It even threatened to turn physical at several points.

But according to TshisaLIVE, AKA denied the claims saying it wasn’t true.

The artistes moved n from the incident with each occasionally throwing shade at each other.

However, Mufasa dug up old wounds when he recounted the incident during an interview with Drum magazine. Cass explained that he was called “all sorts of name” for not fighting back.

“I work hard for the things I have. People who don’t like me will never see the good in me – I’ve accepted it. Even back when I was at a club and that dude whose name I don’t like mentioning (AKA) came and slapped me and I made a choice not to slap back, critics called me all sorts of names.”

But Cassper claimed that if he fought back, he would have faced harsh criticism.

“Had I retaliated, I would’ve been called a hooligan.”

Cass also admitted that he had many industry friends who are no longer part of his life, but said he grateful for his bestie Carpo who has always stuck with him.

Cassper detailed what had happened in the slapping incident in an interview with Real Talk.

“At that moment I wanted to fight back. I wanted to smash him… People got between us. And as I looked into the situation I said, ‘this is not me.’ I don’t want to be known for this. Cassper Nyovest is a brand I respect. Kids will do anything I do. So, if they hear about me fighting then they will fight.”

The musos called a truce when they were seen hugging at a packed club after Cassper’s #FillUpTheDome show.

But last year, Cassper told fans that hip-hop needed to unite but he and AKA would never reconcile? Was this a publicity stunt?
