Renee Claire Hargraves, a 32-year-old woman, has spoken about her journey through addiction and how she was able to beat it.

The mom of two, who now coaches people on how to live a free and healthy life, said despite the fact that she overused painkillers and alcohol, she hid it away from her loved ones.

She connected the cause of the addiction to her traumatic childhood experience and how she had to deal with sexual abuse.

Renee said that though she had all the love that she needed as an adult, her head always told her she was never enough.

The life coach said she began mixing alcohol with medication so as to have a sense of grandeur to ease the pain that comes with being 'not good enough'.

Having a baby after meeting the love of her life in 2012 did not stop the low self-esteem she had to deal with.

Apart from taking alcohol with painkillers, the coach also had a strong addiction to shopping, which left her with debt.
