The 54-year-old took to social media to share with her fans that she was turning 40 on Tuesday.

Deborah shared snaps of herself looking pretty young and amazing on her Facebook page.

She captioned the post:

"To God Almighty... Father, I am grateful for yet another year you’ve added in my life... Reaching 40 is yet another milestone in my life that I'm grateful for... I thank you again Father for the life that I am living... Indeed you’re an amazing and merciful God.... Shalom."

She also shared the same post on her Instagram account.

The Udlalile Ngabantu hitmaker's fans were surprised that their idol of decades has just turned only 40.

The star asked two of her stans who did not believe she had just "turned 40": "Who you gonna believe my angel??? Me or Google???"

Below are some of the reactions to Deborah's post.

Mmage Botlhale le Phetolo added:

"She meant 40 years of being a known singer. So we must just add plus she was already old when she started singing. Which means 65 years or above. Happy birthday mom'Debs."

Mvelo Mkhwanazi added:

"Oh... 40 years of being born again is what she meant. When you receive Jesus as your Lord and savior, uzalwa kabusha (you're born again)."

Briefly.co.za reported that Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune, was feeling very happy and festive and decided to do some singing. He shared a small clip of himself heartily singing along with Deborah Fraser, but Twitter users were left unimpressed and giggling.
