Mzansi singer/songwriter Nomcebo Zikode just signed an awesome international deal. Seeing one of our own succeed like this is truly a proud moment for Mzansi.
Nomcebo revealed that she got offered a deal with Sony/ATV which will see her publishing all her music through them. This is huge news and Nomcebo has all the right to be proud.
Speaking to ZAlebs, Nomcebo expressed her gratitude and excitement. This opportunity is going to change her entire career and she couldn’t be more grateful.
“The experience of having a global hit has been phenomenal. I am very excited to be working with an establishment such as Sony/ATV, the number one publishing company that has such a great global footprint.
"This year has been unbelievable, with the success of Jerusalema and the great reception of my album Xola Moya Wam. I look forward to seeing where this relationship with Sony/ATV takes me. I appreciate the trust and belief Rowlin, Munya and the Sony/ATV global family have in me and will strive to deliver only my best.”
President international of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Guy Henderson, reportedly said that he is beyond excited to have Nomcebo join the team and feels this is just the beginning for her. Talent like this deserves to shine.
Briefly.co.za previously reported that Nomcebo Zikode had been keeping Mzansi dancing even before taking over the international dance scene with Master KG and their single titled Jerusalema.
Her 2017 song with DJ Ganyani called Emazulwini was also big on South African TV and radio stations. Kobanini was also a dancefloor-filler during last year's festive season. She worked on that track with another popular SA DJ Mobi Dixon.
The songstress has laughed off suggestions that she's a one-hit-wonder following the success of her collab with Master KG. The song is big internationally and it even started a viral dance challenge across the globe.
"This is not the first song I have recorded to make it big. Even Master KG has released big songs in the past. I recorded a song with DJ Ganyani, Emazulwini, it went very big and people were also saying that I would never record another big song, and then came Jerusalema. I have many more songs like that."
