Flexing new homes has become a thing on Twitter, with homeowners posting pics of their new digs online.

Thulisile, @Tutusips, took to Twitter to celebrate her independence and the news that she had joined in on the trend of posting images of themselves holding keys in their new homes.

The picture she posted shows her holding keys with a passage in the background, and true to form the kitchen was partially visible.

"Congratulations sister please pay an extra amount on your instalments monthly if you bought the place via a bond at least extra R1000 because wen interest rates go back to its normal percentage you covered, most ppl qualify for a bond because interest rates are low."

Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that Muchael_Bucwa, aka Mr Smeg, has again taken to his popular Twitter page, this time he isn't sharing stolen content or posting about gifts that he saw online - he is celebrating moving into a new apartment.

The young man took to the micro-blogging app to share the news with his followers by posting a picture of his hand holding up what must be the keys to his new place. In the background of the pic, his gleaming Smeg appliances have already been prepared for the photo.

"New beginnings," he captioned the post excitedly.

In other news, Pearl Modiadie is celebrating her 33rd birthday and she's marking it with another major life event as she announced that she has officially paid off her father's house.

The star posted in a now-deleted tweet that she was proud to be celebrating her birthday and the wonderful moment that she officially paid off the house.

Pearl originally purchased the house in 2017 and it holds specific significance as she bought it as a surprise gift to then make into her father's home.
