Khanyi Mbau has been roasted on social media after she questioned the ban of alcohol amid Level 3 lockdown in Mzansi. The reality TV star took to social media recently and shared a video where she asks President Cyril Ramaphosa whether the Covid-19 infections are going up in Mzansi because of liquor consumption.
The media personality wrote on Twitter that the numbers are going up "in the most scariest way" now that government has banned alcohol sale in the country. In the clip, the star says:
"Ever since the pandemic started, I did my Math, the alcohol industry has lost over a thousand percent of its profit... I'm still asking the question to the president... Are the numbers going up because of alcohol?"
Some social media users even accused Khanyi Mbau of posting on behalf of SA Breweries. Check out some of the comments below:

"Khanyi was paid by @SABreweries. Brief for the campaign has been found... But this is very low of you @SABreweries."
@lpsmotsoagae said:
"Did they pay you in cash or alcohol?"
@TboozeSA commented:
"We're in a middle of a pandemic Khanyi. Every country is experiencing job losses because of it. Next time when the president is making an address please listen because he explained why alcohol has to be banned. Experienced advisers came up with this solution and it worked."

"Is it Maths or math?"
@StiloMa77932773 wrote:
"Trauma cases and overcrowding of hospitals is the reason for the ban not necessarily Covid numbers. You spent all this time doing the Maths but didn't take time to listen to the president's speech."
@SiyaMiti_the1st added:
"Look! The government loses revenue as well because it gets a lot of tax revenue from sales of alcohol. That should tell you the decision to ban alcohol was not taken lightly."
In related news, Briefly.co.za previously reported that Khanyi Mbau has weighed in on the effects of alcohol ban in Mzansi. The media personality has shared that completely banning alcohol amid the Covid-19 lockdown in the country is not the solution.
The reality TV star took to Twitter on Monday, 4 January to share her two cents on government's recent decision to ban the sale of liquor under Level 3 lockdown. The stunner first applauded the people of Mzansi for behaving on New Year's Eve.
She commended the citizens after there were "zero trauma cases reported" on 31 December. She believes that people were well-behaved because of the presence of law enforcement agencies on the streets of Mzansi on New Year's Eve instead of the ban on alcohol.
"I doubt that banning alcohol made all the alcohol disappear, people had alcohol in their homes."
