SA Responds to MKMVA Support for Jacob Zuma After ConCourt Defiance

The uMkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA) has pledged its support for former president Jacob Zuma. This comes after Zuma released a statement defying a Constitutional Court order stating he has to appear before the State Capture Commission.

Zuma's statement released on Monday went on to say that the commission is targeting him as the Apartheid government had done with Robert Sobukwe. MKMVA has stated that they agree with the former president.

South Africans have now taken to social media to share their thoughts about MKMVA backing JZ.

MKMVA president Kebby Maphatsoe stated in an interview with eNCA that Zuma is not harming the Republic, adding that the problem Zuma has is with Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo.

EWN reported that Maphatsoe repeated warnings to the state capture commission that if Zuma were to face arrest, then the country should be prepared to see things taking a turn for the worst.

Briefly.co.za previously reported that Zuma had defied the Constitutional Court and refused to cooperate with Raymond Zondo. The former president announced that he would rather go to prison than cooperate with the State Capture Commission.

In a statement he released on Monday, Zuma shared that he would not abide by the Constitutional Court's recent "extraordinary and unprecedented" judgement that compelled him to appear before the commission.
