Maggie Benedict is turning 40 years old this Wednesday, 10 February. The actress has appeared on many Mzansi television productions but she is popularly known as Akhona - a role she played in the now defunct SABC 1 soapie Generations.

Maggie is a very private person who doesn't usually post on social media and doesn't live the life of a celeb, it seems. She last posted on Twitter around 2013 and her Facebook page has been deactivated. The star has also seemingly abandoned her Instagram account.

Briefly.co.za takes a look at three interesting facts about the actress as she celebrates her 40th birthday on this day. The star was born in Pretoria on 10 February, 1981.

1. Award

The talented thespian bagged the South African Film and Television Awards trophy for Best Ensemble Cast back in 2011 for the film titled The Mating Game. Maggie is one of the most talented actresses Mzansi has ever produced.

2. International acting gigs

Entertainment commentator Phil Mpela has shared that Maggie has appeared has starred in three Hollywood productions in the last couple of years. The star has appeared on The Good Doctor - a medical drama series about a young doctor living with autism. She has also appeared on Random Acts Of Flyness and The Romanoffs.

3. Arrest

Maggie trended on social media and made headlines when she was arrested for shoplifting at Cresta Mall. Pics of her arrest went viral on social media. She allegedly stole a box of headache tablets worth R17.90 from Checkers Cresta in December 2013. That was one of her most embarrassing moment as a celeb. She was still part of Generations at the time.

The musician took to social media to share some of the things he received on his birthday. The star was gifted with AKA branded balloons, a birthday cake, AKA branded cupcakes, a portrait of himself and lots of love from his fans who flooded his timeline with birthday messages.

Supa Mega shared a snap of his presents on Instagram and captioned it:

"Thank you so much to the Megacy. You are undefeated. Unconditionally loving and I love you with all my heart."

Even though he did not get to throw a huge party on his birthday due to the Covid-19 lockdown, AKA appreciated the love he got on his special day. Mega's fans took to his comment section to wish him all the best.
