Gospel star and medical doctor Dr Tumi has opened up about his mugging incident. A video of the singer being mugged trended on social media last Wednesday, 24 February.
The star took to Twitter a few hours after his mugging went viral to show gratitude to all his fans for who left him "kind messages" on the micro-blogging app. The musician wrote:
"Good evening fam. Trust you have been well. Thank you all for your kind messages. Sending mega love to you. TGS."
The artist told Daily Sun in an interview that he wasn't shook by the incident because of the state of crime in Mzansi.. Dr Tumi expressed that he's fine.
He shared that the mugging took him by surprise as he never thought that it would happen an a busy spot such as a car wash and eatery. The popular muso said he was at the spot to greet a friend.

Briefly.co.za reported that the video that circulated on social media has left Mzansi concerned. The footage showed gospel singer Dr Tumi getting mugged while walking in the street in Midrand.
Various accounts posted the video including parody account AdvBarryRoux. The account captioned the video:
"Dr Tumi being mugged at Tshili’s Midrand yesterday."
The footage showed the doctor and muso dressed in a black suit and talking on the phone. Shortly afterwards, two men walked passed him and one approached him and snatched his phone. The thieves got away in a white car.
