Thembisa Mdoda will be taking over Zandile Msuthwana duties on The Queen after she injured herself on the set of that hit show.
The Daily Sun reported that the producers of the show had no choice but to replace Zandile as she could not perform her role while injured.
Mdoda will temporarily take over the character of Vuyiswa.
"Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo joins #TheQueenMzansi for a temporary character change! From the 19th April 2021, she will be gracing our screens as the new Vuyiswa Maake. While Zandile Msutwana is recovering from an injury she sustained on set."
Fans reacted to the news and shared their opinions on the change:
@ChaukeTinyiko88:
"Surely they could've made her go on a vacation or something on her storyline."
@noku_non:
"This is going to be so confusing for viewers ngathi mna I even struggled with The Crown when they had to change actors for the grown-up versions of the characters."
@karin_human:
"This is all very strange. Other characters were just temporarily written out as part of the storyline ... like Georgina on a course in CT. Why would you replace her??? Very suspicious."
Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that Mzansi social media users decided to take some time to show love and appreciation to veteran actor Rapulana Seiphemo.
Seiphemo is a South African actor and filmmaker. He is primarily known for his role as Tau Mogale in the long-running soap opera Generations and its continuation, Generations: The Legacy.
Many felt that they wanted to show him live while he was still alive. Twitter user kulanicool said:
“We've got to appreciate Rapulana Seiphemo while he's still with us.”
In other news, fans were left in shock as Noah, played by Austin Mothapo, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on the hit show Skeem Saam.
It is not clear how the drama would keep his character's story arc alive while in prison and some believe this will be the end of Mothapo's run on the show.
However, the show has not confirmed that he has been cut but fans are worried one of their favourite characters might leave the show.
