Briefly News previously reported that fans of late actor Chadwick Boseman have been displeased by what they think of as a snub at the 93rd Oscar Awards show.

This comes after 83-year-old legendary actor Anthony Hopkins was awarded an Oscar for Best Actor in the movie The Father. Many expected that Boseman would outrightly be the winner for his last film Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, in which he acted in while suffering from cancer.

The award was given at the end of the show, which seemed befitting for a star who gave his all to film, hence closing the night. However, when it turned out the winner was Hopkins, fans immediately went on Twitter to air their frustrations at Boseman being 'robbed'.

It was also reported that the 93rd Oscars went down on Sunday, April 25, almost two months later than the usual date the ceremony is held every year at what was an unusual time.

The event was split between Dolby Theater in Hollywood and Union Station in downtown Los Angeles to help deal with the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the New York Times. It definitely felt different considering the pandemic, which led to many production houses shutting down and being unable to work.

Fifteen of the 23 awards went to movies that premiered on streaming services with Nomadland picking up three awards, the most on the night.
